Makan Coffee & Roastery is a place of gathering, drawn from the demand for a space to sit, conversate, and socialize. Makan features a bold but minimalistic approach to its details, with a typographic logo design echoing the rhythmic gestures and ligatures of Arabic script, and integration of existing elements in the space referencing culture through traditional materials and architecture. Together with the introduction of desert-inspired materials, Makan became a space familiar to its surroundings, fitting into its context both aesthetically and functionally.
